In the Larger Community

This is the place on our website for information about our involvement as a congregation and as individuals in the larger commuity - Olympia/Lacey/Tumwater, Thurston County, and Washington State. See below for ways OUUC is reaching out to the larger community, and where you can find our members and friends as they volunteer in the larger community.

OUUC Programs

• Social Justice
  Our Social Justice committee works on social justice activities in the larger community.
• Out of the Woods
  Out of the Woods is an independent organization affiliated with OUUC which provides food, shelter and other assistance to those in need.
• Share the Plate
  This program gives half of the undesignated funds in the collection at each of our services to an organization in the community whose work is closely aligned with our Purposes and Principles and our Unitarian Universalist values. So far the recipients of our Share the Plate program have included:

• Partnership with North Shore Unitarian Universalist Society in Louisiana
  OUUC is assisting UUs in Louisiana affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Members' and Friends' Activities in the Larger Community

OUUC members and friends are active in many arenas. We offer this space for announcements of upcoming events.
